Alexander Scott Dennison, J.D., M.B.A.

Alexander Scott Dennison was born in San Antonio, Texas, while his father was stationed at Fort Sam Houston.  The son of an Army pilot, Mr. Dennison has lived in a variety of places around the country.  Mr. Dennison’s family has been in Florida since the mid-eighteen hundreds.   He returned to Florida in 2004 to attend Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport and at the new Tampa campus.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Dennison spent three years studying at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan working towards a degree in Music Composition.  He went on to attend University of Phoenix at the Westminster, Colorado campus where he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.  After graduation, he began graduate studies at Regis University in Denver, Colorado where he received a M.B.A. degree, with honors.

In December, 2008, Mr. Dennison graduated from Stetson University College of Law and received a Juris Doctor degree.  He also received, through his participation in the International Law Concentration program, a Certificate of Concentration in International Law.  Mr. Dennison became a member of the International Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi while attending Stetson.

Mr. Dennison’s first career was in the newspaper industry.  Beginning with his first position as a District Manager with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Mr. Dennison had a successful, progressive career that led him from Ohio, to Colorado, and then to Florida where he worked with the St. Petersburg Times.  Mr. Dennison managed operations in circulation.  He was involved on a daily basis making sure that tens of thousands of subscribers received world-class service and at one point managed operations including 24 direct reports and over 120 contractors who were responsible for making deliveries.

Mr. Dennison joined a small law firm based in Lutz, Florida in 2009.  Mr. Dennison was admitted to practice law in Florida in September 2009 and began his legal career working in the area of foreclosure defense.  At his previous firm, Mr. Dennison was responsible for litigation on more than 350 files.  During this time, he appeared in hearings in twelve different courthouses in ten different counties around Florida.

Mr. Dennison’s experience includes training and developing staff, managing daily operations, improving processes, building productive business relationships, and developing new business and new revenue streams.  He decided to start his own law firm in November 2010 and created Florida Defense Law, P.A. to provide world-class service to individuals and business in challenging financial situations.

Mr. Dennison is admitted to The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and is also admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado.
